Well, okay, so it was a sweeping statement, and it was based on my experiences with a few undergraduates. In retrospect (note the time of the posting) it is almost certainly not true for any sort of majority. Graduate students are probably just as culpable. It could be even distributed over all users, but I get the impression that it is something people tend to grow out of. I've just known a few who filled disk packs with stuff they found over the net.
