The details of the acronym escape Uhh, I think you have the wrong STEP. PDES stands for Product Definition Exchange Specification, which started as a US effort. STEP stands for Standard for Exchange of Product Model Data (I believe) which is the European version of same. PDES/STEP indicates that both groups are trying to converge on a single standard for product modeling data. -- John A.
