Just to clarify: MiNT is not a CLI. There is a very simple (toy, really) shell that comes with MiNT as init.prg, but you're not stuck with that one. Try using bash or ksh under MiNT -- you may like them a lot better. (MiNT is just the kernel that the shells run under, that provides things like multitasking, pipes, pseudo-terminals, and job control). -- Eric R.
