Or else one of the rather early small systems. If it is real heavy it MAY have real memory (ie CORE), you know - the iron stuff. You did not mention a model no or system id. It helps greatly - the pdp-11 ranges from single board systems (eg falcon, 11/21?, 11/53, 11/93) which only need the addition of power and minimal I/O up to large commercial systems such as the DECsystem 500 machines in large cabinets (a la 11/780). The large 11/70 systems would weigh up to half a ton for the CPU and memory. But I dont think you would be trying to run RT-11 on it. (Far too sophisticated - too commercial). Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS on the choice of an excellent personal/professional computer. Even if you only bought it for home use I am sure you will find it rewarding and educational. John G.
