After further consideration it seems that the best choice for
the name of the new newsgroups should be:

comp.sys.hp48     (moderated:   source, informative postings)
comp.sys.hp48.d   (unmoderated: general discussion)

After all, what we are trying to accomplish is a discussion group
for the hp48sx.  So let's not beat around the bush.  The 48sx
will be around for some time to come and is worthy of its own
newsgroup.

Let's all get behind this and vote yes for this proposal.  Alonzo
Gariepy, Jeff E. Mandel and I have been working together to come up with
this proposal and we are all in agreement on it.

The last consideration (that I know of) is the people who are on
mailing lists and other gateways.  It is not anyone's goal to exclude
these people and I want to do everything I can to make sure these
people are not excluded.  If necessary, I can gateway the new
newsgroups (assuming they pass) to the users adversely affected by the
switch over.  Anyone affected by this please let me know what needs to
be done to fix your problem.  I'm sure something can be worked out.
