Summary: What more can I say? Message-ID: <1991Mar10.051819.20966@midway.uchicago.edu> Date: 10 Mar 91 05:18:19 GMT Sender: news@midway.uchicago.edu (News Administrator) Organization: University of Chicago Lines: 23 Subject line says it all. Here are the specifics. 1989 SE/30 running 6.0.5, loads of things, running SingleShare at the time, connected into AppleTalk network via PhoneNET connectors. I come back home, and bingo, it's screen is grey- with a funny sort of problem. I turn it off, then on again. No "bong" noise- uhoh. HD spins up to speed, light flashes a little, but no go. Pressing restart button on side does nothing- screen flickers, but odd, static-filled screen comes up. Restart from floppy unsuccessful. I realize that this is a severe hardware problem, but I'm not so sure that I understand how everything could work so right, yet not work at all. Anyone have any ideas? Is this a fried Mac? Power Supply must be fine, right? Screen OK. Oh, I'd much rather get "Sad Mac" codes, to tell the truth. Oh, well. I thought I'd share this with y'all. I'll take it in to the dealer, but I was wondering if anyone had ever seen anything like it. :-( <- this is me.
