Summary: wiggled some cables inside Message-ID: <1991Mar11.040740.25156@midway.uchicago.edu> Date: 11 Mar 91 04:07:40 GMT Sender: news@midway.uchicago.edu (News Administrator) Organization: University of Chicago Lines: 20 My thanks go out to Sunil Bhatla at CWRU and to Werner Uhrig of U Texas for their input. They gave me the courage to go and poke around the inside of what seemed to be a terminally sick Mac. Sunil had had the problem, but traced it (possibly) to SIMMs. Werner's problem was solved by simply wiggling the cables around, as mentioned in his post. I would tend to agree with this theory of fixing, since I decided to stop before I even got to the SIMMs. I decided that I wasn't terribly adept at this, afterall. And so I gave up. So, if your Mac seems dead, wiggle them cables! 'later! (Einstuerzende Neubaten), or call me nwc1 if you have problems with that. -- | Beep Beep Beavers * WFNX 101.7 * Words like violence/ Break the silence/ | | Come crashing in/ Into my little world.-DM * I KNOW that it's Einstuerzende | | Neubauten * Jesus saves sinners and redeems them for fabulous prizes! | | Disclaimer: The U. of C. has NO control over what I say, only over me. ;^) |
