Anyway is there the compatible equivalent of the PC archiving programs like PKARC, PKZIP etc on the MACs? I want to transfer some files over a network and the best way to save bandwidth would be to compress on the source machine and then decompress on the target machine. If there isn't is there any other way of reducing tranfer times. At about 1 Meg per minute through Appletalk it's getting pretty slow. A software solution and preferably PD would be best!
