To summarize, I bought my Mac on Feb. 26 though the University of Illinois. I'm expection delivery on Apr. 19. Well I'm obviously not getting System 7.0 right? Well I've got this poster that I was given by the University's Apple rep, that describes each Mac system. Under the heading System Software (included) it says "System Software 7.0" Well I just got off the phone with Apple in Cupertino, and they wont give me an answer to my question (i.e. Will I get sys7 and docs free?). They kind of hinted that I would have to pay for the upgrade (no freebies). They took my name and address to show record of the call and said I should talk to my dealer about the issue. Well, the dealer says I should call the Apple rep. in Chicago.....AARGH. This is where I started. So, what can I say, Is Apple going to SCREW all new purchasers out of Sys. 7.0 or do I just bring this poster to my dealer and say where are my disks? If you have an opinion on this (or you would like to know anything else about this poster) I'd sure like to hear it. It might be a good idea to e-mail me since this issue has already taken up alot of bandwidth. I'll summerize if there's alot of interest. Robert Cook (rcook@ncsa.uiuc.edu) p.s. Sorry if this got posted twice, I'm having a little trouble with a remote server.
