Message-ID: <13215@helios.TAMU.EDU> Date: 8 Mar 91 22:17:32 GMT Sender: usenet@helios.TAMU.EDU Reply-To: cantrell@ee.tamu.edu (Pierce Cantrell) Organization: Texas A&M University Lines: 17 In several news groups and in Digital News (Mar 4, 1991) there is discussion of problems using disks with formatted sizes greater that 1GB. The problem has to do with using SCSI Group 0, which has an address field limited to 1 GB, versus Extended SCSI that can handle disks greater than one GB. Are there any Mips machines that will have this problem? I assume that our RC3230 that was shipped from the factory with 1.2 GB drives is fine? -- Pierce Cantrell cantrell@ee.tamu.edu Department of Electrical Engineering Texas A&M University tel: (409) 845-7441 College Station, Texas 77843-3128 fax: (409) 845-6259
