Couldn't some soldering-iron-competent person put a mechanical
toggle switch on this line, allowing us to turn off our NeXT
monitors when we're not using them?

I, for one, never shut my machine down, except during electrical
storms, and such. My machine is a file/print server for another 
machine, and it does unattended nightly backups, so it must stay
on 24 hours.

Any takers or caveats?
