When you change the timezone on your NeXT, the /Net directory's little "world" icon changes to match it (well, vaguely). To see what I mean, change your timezone to be somewhere in Asia or Africa, reboot your machine (I'm not sure that's required - might want to just log out and back in), and then go look at the /Net directory.
