According to Nextworld, you can get a NeXt cube with either a CD-ROM or a
read/write optical disks (among other options).  Are there any advantages of
having the CD-ROM instead of the read/write drive?  Can the optical drive read
CD-ROM discs?

Is much software distributed on CD-ROM?
