Eplain [by karl] has this solution adapted from from Knuth's book 382. Basically it uses something like \listing#1{\begingroup \obey*** \input #1 \endgroup} The trick here is that \input #1 is not affected by \obey***. However to use this solution one has to use a separate file. What I need is something like \listing{something to be printed as it is like a computer program} However one can not simply modify above definition by changing \input #1 to #1. So in short, a Plain TeX solution is wanted. 2. I posted before, the problem of ``long equation and multiple column problem has been solved by the following authors''. I would appreciate a copy of code if some one has it on line. \subsec Gary Benson, Debi~Erpenbeck, \and Janet~Holmes\\Inserts in a Multiple-Column Format\\727-742< -- xiaofei@acsu.buffalo.edu / rutgers!ub!xiaofei / v118raqa@ubvms.bitnet
