Keywords: unix, system administration, database Message-ID: Date: 11 Mar 91 10:35:27 GMT Sender: news@dnlunx.pttrnl.nl Lines: 21 Hello! I am developing a tool to support Unix system administrators. At this moment I am trying to find out what data is needed to manage a Unix system. I reckon this data will consist of two parts: - Data that describes the managed system as it should be. This data might be used to check the actual status of the system. - Historical data, to be able to do some predictions on the future (by extrapolation). Does anyone know which ATTRIBUTES might be of interest, or where I could find a DESIGN for such a database? -- Willem de Jong | PTT Research Neher Laboratories | P.O. box 421 Phone: +31 70 3323700 | 2260 AK Leidschendam E-mail: WA_dJong@pttrnl.nl | The Netherlands
