There was an announcement in this news group dated 11 Dec 90. I ftp'ed khoros from pprg.unm.edu and got it running on a Sun Sparc1+ under OpenWIndows. It is a very impressive package. The version I got was v 0.9 - a beta release. I don't know if there have been any changes. Since this is a beta version, there are some rough edges and missing pieces. However, it compares quite favorably in its quality and completeness to much commercial software.
