The viewport has AllowHorizontal, and its width is specified. The list does not have the width specified. When I create the list, and its longest member is longer than the width of the viewport, as I expect, it creates a horizontal scrollbar which I can use to move around. However, if I change the list with XtListChange, and there is a new item in the list which is even longer, the scrollbar on the viewport does not grow, and I cannot see the new text.
