The disadvantage is that the paint I'v seen the Radio Shack markers in action. They are absolutely useless for makeing PC boards. You might also tape up the copper end of the board, then cut fine lines out of the tape. Then, you might not have a problem with the thick paint marker. I planned on useing fingernail polish for PC work this weekend, but I think I will give the paint marker a shot.
