I am trying to avoid using a 3 board system. I want a device which can input RS-232 (or 422) data at a low baud rate (1200-9600), do some simple processing, and output (ouput ONLY) RS-422 at 250,000 bits/sec. My first choice is a single board computer, but I can't find any that has 2 serial ports, and can output at 250k. My second choice is to build one, using a single-chip controller with a serial port (8051 maybe), and a high speed UART. Of course, a single chip with 2 serial ports would be better. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Randy Brumbaugh rando@skipper.dfrf.nasa.gov
