The Swiss-Prot protein sequence databank is a product of a
collaboration between Amos Bairoch of the University of Geneva and the
EMBL Data Library.  We thank them for the permission to make it
available for anonymous FTP from genbank.bio.net [134.172.1.160].

The directory pub/db/swiss-prot17 contains all of the compressed files
(*.Z) for Swiss-Prot release 17 (about 14.4 Mb of data compressed).
Compression is accomplished with the standard UNIX "compress" utility.
Run "uncompress" to uncompress the files.  VMS users may uncompress
these files with the lzdcmp.exe utility found in the pub/vms directory
in the anonymous FTP account.
