Sender: news@engin.umich.edu (CAEN Netnews) Organization: University of Michigan Engineering, Ann Arbor Date: Mon, 18 Mar 1991 15:47:59 GMT Hello! I am trying to use a neural network for a Control related problem, and I already have a three-level backtracking neural network, which takes binary inputs and gives binary outputs. Are there any neural nets out there that take real numbers (from say -d to +d on the real axis) as inputs? The outputs can still be binary, although it would be good if I can train it to output in real numbers also. I realize I can convert my real numbers into binary, and I will do that, but having a net that can handle real numbers would be good to experiment with also. Thanks for your time! - Chuck Cohen P.S. I can handle C and Lisp. -- "I do not feel obliged to believe that same God who endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect, had intended for us to forgo their use." - Galileo "I'm an engineer, not a dictionary!" - Me
