i know of 2: proff and pcroff both of which you can get from garbo.uwasa.fi.
pcroff is the simpler of the two. both come with source code i think. i have
had trouble with pcroff when working with our laser-jet but it works just 
fine on my panasonic kx-p1124.

if anyone finds an equation editor that will work with one of these programs 
let me know. good luck.
