Offering shared network printers to user groups is presently by connecting printers to an eight port terminal server, using serial cabling. This solution requires an additional serial cabling system in our buildings to be able to move printers and add printers to the network in a flexible way. Unfortunately this is not the case in some of our buildings, user groups have strong requirements for a cheap printserver or LAT terminal server or lowcost PC based printserver connected to Ethernet. Example is a manager who want his printoutput of his PC redirected to a LAN shared printer in the secretariat office. Has any one a recommendation for a low cost printserver functionality in a DEC PCSA environment.
