We are developing an Ethernet interface to these products, and want to support the TCPIP protocols. Just saying "TCPIP" does not, however, completely define the interface: what higher level protocol should be used to talk to the printer (e.g. FTP) ? We do not want to re-invent the wheel. There must be standards already in existence for talking to printers (e.g. DEC, Linotype). Could any users of these printers provide advice or pointers to any reference information that would help me ? Thanks.
