The 7221C speaks a unique "compact binary" serial language. Rather than write a driver for it, I would suggest that you convert it to HP-GL (effectively converting it to a 7220C) with the following 4-ROM kit: HP part number 07221-00020, and has a U.S.list price of $80.00.
