I use an SGI as the pcnfsd server and have no |problems (even in 386 enhanced mode). I use the LPT1.OS2 port in the |control printer setup. This is Sun's suggestion. It seems to work well. How do you check the queue? You telnet to the SGI. How do you pause, resume, or delete a job? You telnet to the SGI. (actually, you probably can't pause or resume as an ordinary user, only su can use lpc) How do you choose the server and the printer? Not from a Windows menu, like you can with Novell. How do you find out the name of the server(s) and the name of the printer(s)? Under Sun PC-NFS you have to know them. Under Novell, there's a menu which tells you the choices you have and you just pick the one you want. Novell is user-friendly. Sun PC-NFS isn't. Let's not talk about printer timeouts with Sun PC-NFS... -- The government is not your mother. The government doesn't love you.
