HELP! =- Eric =- Ahahahahahaha! What a mor---oh, you said *don't* laugh. Sorry. :-) Spoiler follows: There are at least two ways to complete this level, at least theoretically. The one I'm not going to describe is extremely timing-critical, but should allow 100% of the lemmings to be saved. I haven't been able to actually do it yet, only to plan it. The easy way requires 1 lemming to be sacrificed, and is (as usual) surprisingly simple: 0. Daa di da da da, da da di di da da da... 1. Bash through first two pillars 2. Create 1 athlete. He'll climb the last pillar and float down the other side. 3. Meanwhile, have a miner dig through the last pillar from the top of the stairs immediately to the left of the pillar. Make sure he doesn't start digging too far back, or he'll dig into the stairs and fall through. In that case it's escape-key time. When the tunnel is complete, all the lemmings will pour through and become trapped behind the far stairs. 4. When the athlete reaches the chasm, turn him into a builder. Keep building until he's crossed the chasm. When he reaches the gap in the broken stairs, build again. 5. As soon as the builder has started on his last set of bricks, turn one of the trapped lemmings into a blocker immediately adjacent to the stairs, then turn him into a bomber. When he pops, he'll blow away the bottom of the stairs, and you're done.
