I was concerned with a slight problem of doing 14.4k X-fers while
writing to the hard drive.  The problem seems to lie when the buffer
goes to dump to disk, this seems to cause just enough delay to cause
CRC errors.  Is there a problem with the HF2000 or can it be solved
by other means (serial board?)

Would appreciate public response, please.
