I then replaced the left CIA (8520) and everything was fine. I know the same CIA is malfunctioning now ( I switched the 2 , and the clock worked but another problem occured). I can buy another CIA but I like to know what could be the problem . I think I know what it is but maybe someone could comment on it. I noticed that I have a problem with the ground. Sometimes when I plug in the printer cable I see litle sparks . I also noticed that when I take a wire and connect the ground (of the house , not of my computer) with the outside of my stereo (which is connected to the Amiga) the fuses blow. This doesn't happen when I unplug the audio So I think there is something wrong with the ground of my Amiga (or maybe the powersupply?) Maybe someone had a similar problem or whatever .... Well, if you keep power in your Amiga ON, when plugging the cable, then you have made terrible mistake. You have to turn off your Amiga before changing wires. If you don`t then CIA-chips will continue to break in future too. If I recall right you shouldn`t even switch mouse or joystick cables when power is on (well I don`t think this is as bad as changing diskdrive or printer cables). -- *********************************************************************** * Markus.Aalto@hut.fi | Only Amiga makes it possible!!!! * * s37732v@vipunen.hut.fi | * * s37732v@puukko.hut.fi | Yeah!
