SID1.06 will work fine on a 3000 if you do these things 3: 1) Make sure that "SeparateDirs=NO" in SID.config file. 2) Filezap the executable and change all NewCON: references to CON: (can you just "assign CON: NEWCON:" ? I don't know...) 3) NEVER use any of the directory buttons except for VOL. Either select your directories using the two boxes on top, or use VOL. I've been using it for months on my 3000 without a single problem.
