Message-ID: <910314134247251-MTAJLUG*UMeyer@DGIHRZ01> Date: 14 Mar 91 12:55:08 GMT Sender: usenet@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Organization: The Internet Lines: 19 Hi, we have slight problems starting some of the Unix daemons on our master node. All 4 machines in our network have the same `node_data/etc.rc and `node_data/etc.inetd.conf files (and TCP running). On 3 nodes rwhod, routed, writed, sendmail, cron and inetd are running, but the master refuses to start rwhod and routed. If I start them by typing '/etc/rwhod &' the process exits immediately (/etc/rwhod done). Any suggestions ? Second Problem: My `node_data/startup.1280bw sets SYSTYPE to bsd4.2, but sometimes I end up in SYS5 and the value of the variable is indeed SYS5. Very confusing ! Any hints someone ? Any help and comments on these questions are appreciated ! Uwe Meyer / Dept. of Mathematics and Computer Science / University of Giessen (Germany)
