Just guessing at your problems, but ...

If you take a look at the `node_data/etc/rc.local file, you'll find
that most of the TCP/IP daemons are started using a command line that
checks for both the existance of the executable program (eg. /etc/rwhod)
*and* the enabling file in `node_data/etc/daemons (eg. /etc/daemons/rwhod).
