Supposidly, it already exists in limited quantities.  I just heard that
the Memphis public school system just took delivery of over 500 Mac LCs
with Apple ][ cards in them.  They aren't even hard drive systems.  They
will be used for the next year exclusively as Apple ][ emulators until
they reevaluate their software assessment (which is extensive).
