The way I heard it was that half the board of directors of Apple were also on the DRI board. So to avoid shooting themselves in the foot they just settled it all out of court. It's odd though that the new TT desktop is getting *VERY* Mac like in most respects, even XCONTROL works like the Macs accessories.
