The sun's GUI suntools (now called sunview) was a specified standard GUI.
The atari's OpenLook is based on sunview.  In fact, OpenLook (what i am running
right now on this SPARCstation) has a nearly identical programming interface
to Sunview's.  You could say that open look is sunview with an X-window's 
protocol...
