I tried ON-D and then G on my Ver D HP48sx with week-old batteries and I got the diagnostic with no bars. I then put in my previous set of batteries (the caluclator lights up with a lowbat(s) indicator) and then tried the diagnostic. I got two lines in the diagnostic, onw underneat each 210v. Now, Ken Rawlings said that he tried his ver E with fresh batteries and he got bars. My question to him is how many bars he had? And, ian got no bars with fresh batteries. According to me and ian, the bars seem to indicate a low battery status, no bars means fresh, bars means low. But Ken's is different. What is up? Anyone else want to experiment with this? ---Falco
