Message-ID: <65361@eerie.acsu.Buffalo.EDU> Date: 15 Mar 91 00:25:34 GMT Sender: news@acsu.Buffalo.EDU Distribution: usa Organization: State University of New York at Buffalo/Comp Sci Lines: 22 Nntp-Posting-Host: sybil.cs.buffalo.edu Originator: res@sybil.cs.Buffalo.EDU I have just recently installed a Dual HD/FD controller in my ibm AT compatible. I tried to connect a ST238R as drive C: and a ST157R as drive D: and E:. I was able to do the low level format to the ST238R and get the computer to recognize it as drive C:. However, when I tried to low level format the ST157R, using standard drive number 3's parameters, I received the error message FATAL ERROR: CODE CCH. My question is, what causes this error and what do I need to do to get my drive to low level format? As far as I can tell, I have the drive configured correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Robb BTW, The controller is a WA-6SR FD/HD controller, both drives are configured as drive select 2 (it has twisted cables), and the card bios is enabled in memory location d800. -- ---- Robert Szczesniak, State Univ. of New York at Buffalo res@cs.buffalo.edu | res%cs.buffalo.edu@ubvm.bitnet
