Message-ID: <1991Mar19.003230.2984@csis.dit.csiro.au> Date: 19 Mar 91 00:32:30 GMT Distribution: usa Organization: csis.dit.csiro.au Lines: 24 I'm trying to get a Trident VGA card (16 bit 512K memory) to work with my AT clone (12 MHz, 2MB memory, DTK bios). The problem is whenever I put the card in the machine and set the appropriate jumper to indicate "colour" monitor the machine just won't boot from the hard disc. It *will* boot from a floppy though. There are other problems too: Sometimes the BIOS on the VGA card says it has 256K memory and other times it says it has 512K memory. Occasionally the screen goes blank and the machine hangs, and at other times all I see are vertical green lines. Any advice you can give much appreciated, Stuart +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Internet : stuarth@csis.dit.csiro.au | | | Voice : +61-6-2750941 | _--_|\ | | Fax : +61-6-2571052 | / \ | | Postal : CSIRO Division of Information Technology, | \_.--._/ | | GPO Box 664, Canberra ACT 2601 | v | | AUSTRALIA | | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
