I obtained MacTest version 1.0 for IIfx and it showed that my serial port
failed the serial port test but advised setting the IIfx Serial Switch to
'Compatible'.  This I did and then my machine passed all of MacTest, but
the communications programs still had the same complaints.  I went so far
as to run VersaTerm through the printer port from both the hard disk and
a floppy and it works fine.

What else can I do to determine whether my serial port is sick?  My IIfx
is still under warranty, but I would hate to lose its use if there is
something else I could do to solve or better isolate the problem.
