Keywords: seuqent, appletalk, mac Message-ID: Date: 15 Mar 91 20:07:41 GMT Sender: news@dschub.dsc.com Distribution: usa Lines: 36 I got such good responses to my last question that I thought I'd try another. We have a Sequent Symentry sitting on our net which has two ethernet cards, and routes between two TCP/IP subnets. We also have two Sun stations running Sitka's TOPS 3.0 with phase one protocols in effect. The Problem: these two Sun machines are on opposite sides of the Sequent gateway, and the Sequent does not seem to want to route the Appletalk packets along with the TCP/IP packets. If it did, both TOPS networks would suddenly merge, instead of being separated like they are now.. The Question: As a possible solution I have gotten CAP from rutgers, and in installing it I discovered the Sequent kernel appears to already has some version of CAP installed. Does anyone know how to turn this feature on, and has anyone tried this? I can't seem to find it in the manuals. If this built in system works, I won't bother building CAP, although if someone has experience building CAP on a Sequent, any info on that would be nice as well. Also, if anyone know of some other clever way to get aroung this, please let me know. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ |\/\/\/| Paul Tatarsky | | Digital Sound Corp. `Makers of That VoiceMail Stuff` | | Internet: pst%dschub@hub.ucsb.edu | (o)(o) Uucp: pyramid!ucsbcsl!dschub!pst ( _) VMail: (805) 566-2255 x2234 | ,___| -- | / Matt Groenig Was Cooler When He Was Poor / \ Work is Hell -------------------------------------------------------------------------
