    I don't remember for sure, but doesn't List Mgr keep its own
    copy of the data you send it?

    Basically:
        NewPtr something
        fill it in
        call List Mgr to add new row and/or col.
        Dispos of the memory
        etc.

    I don't have access to my old code; advice appreciated.
