This is kind of a trivial point, but I noticed in an article an
implication that the functionality of MultiFinder had been
moved into the Finder.  I was under the impression that the
functionality of MultiFinder had actually been moved into the
System.  The latter makes more sense to me, since a program
(such as HyperCard) launching another program should not have
to rely on the Finder for aid in doing so.

Does anyone know the real story?
