First of all, when you get your upgrade (I got mine already, pre installed), are you supposed to get an optical with system 2.0 on it? I had 2.0 preinstalled on the hard disk, and I have used an optical of my own to back it up, one which would be better used on something else. My salesman denies that I'm supposed to get an optical, but I don't really believe him. Do you have to pay extra for the disk? Secondly, I have some public domain fonts that were converted from Mac fonts and given to me by a very helpful fellow at my local PC support center on campus. I installed them using the makefile included with them, and put them into /LocalLibrary/Fonts. I could then use them (inconsistently) as root, but not when I logged on as myself. Although they appeared in the font panel, when I tried to use one, it said "font unavailable". I copied the whole thing into my home directory under ~/Library/Fonts and they work fine, but I would also like them to work for the other users without every one of them having a separate copy! Symbolic links might work, but I would rather get them working from /LocalLibrary. Any ideas? Thanks to all. --- Anthony Berno (aberno@questor.wimsey.bc.ca) The Questor Project: Free Public Access to Usenet & Internet in Vancouver, BC, Canada, at +1 604 681-0670
