have either of you scoped out the 

	/usr/people/4Dgifts/examples/devices/bpex.c

bitpad example program?  i can't guess if summasketch is intelligible to
the hitachi driver that sgi uses/implements, but if yer bitpad is compatible
w/sgi's driver, then this prog shud work fine for you as well.
