Brian: I had similar problems - never resolved. We THINK it might be
the hardware we were using (clone board featuring ASIC UART rather than
proper 8250)

By the way - weren't Interactive supposed to be contacting all us 
INTEL V.4 Beta sites. I'm here....where *are* you?
