If you get a LED/LCD display catalog from AND (415-347-9916) the data sheet is in the back, and they even include wiring diagrams for the popular microcontrollers. There's a character generator and cursor control in there, so once you get it set up, it does most of the work. But the initialization ritual is complicated. John Nagle
