The following just-published paper may be of interest to some of you:
Pickover, C. (1990) On the aesthetics Sierpinski gaskets formed from
large Pascal's triangles, Leonardo.  23(4), 411-417.

One wonders if these objects may make useful models for fractal
physiological structures, such as the branching pattern of bronchi and
blood vessels, or intricate histological cross-sections.
