The anon ftp server is helios.ucsc.edu, or if your name server is no better than ours, 128.114.130.37 . If you don't know what anon ftp is, write and I will send you a brief instruction sheet. If you are not on the internet, send mail and I will mail you the summary. If you just want your name on the massive mailing list I am keeping (to alert you if a major new release of the summary is available later, which I hope will be the case as more war stories come rolling in), send mail asking to be added. I was not able to parse the following addresses: bad system name: compsm uux failed. code 68 550 ... Host unknown otl.SanDiego.NCR.COM... User unknown 550 ... Host unknown and unable to get to 421 infonode.ingr.com.tcp... Deferred: Host is unreachable maybe these people would like to try sending me mail again and we can work on getting my mailers to handle your addresses... Feel free to send me more gossip, benchmarks, etc. This is an evolving document. Current topics of interest: 3rd party 4GL interfaces to major dbases; GUIs for various windowing systems (mainly Motif and OL); easy user-programming interfaces including front ends for Macs and/or PC's. Thanks again to the net. Cast your information upon the waters and it shall be.... de
