especially the conversion stuff is interesting. we need a OCR
(Optical Character Recognition) software for UNIX (Sys V).
i could have bought a dozen DOS programs on CeBIT faire, but
not a single UNIX program that does this.

what we want to have in the end is the above plus
- scanned images --> fax
- scanned imaged --> ascii/iso8859
- fax            -->   "      "

any pointers would be appreciated!
