I've seen a number of good compression algorithms for greyscale and
color images, but are there good compression algorithms for single-bit
images?  To be more specific, these are bitmaps that have been
dithered from greyscale images using Floyd-Steinberg (i.e., pgmtopbm).
Lossless algorithms preferred, slightly lossy OK.
